At Albert Park College, we are committed to supporting and championing the arts in all their many forms. Our Annual Art Show is the way we showcase and share that commitment.
The selection panel will choose a diverse collection of artworks to exhibit from paintings, prints, photography and sculpture. Many of these belong to our students, who revel in the opportunity to see their work exhibited alongside those of professional artists. This blend of professional and student works is a real feature of the show and offers great encouragement to our budding artists.
All funds raised through this year’s Art Show will directly support the transformation of our Danks Street library into a dedicated study centre, our environmentally sustainable design space, Makerspace 2.0 and exciting new upgrades to our STEM facilities.
The Art Show would not be possible without the generous support of our community and partners. We’d like to especially acknowledge everyone who has stepped forward to sponsor one of our art prizes, it’s wonderful to be able to reward excellence.
Finally, a big thank you to all involved in the planning and delivery of the Show. Special thanks to Trudy Rice who has been a driving force behind the APC Art Show from day one. As she steps down from her curatorial role, we thank her for her energy and expertise. Art Show 2020 also marks the departure Ian Scott, Lesley Melody, Jules Brookes and Ruth Krawat who have all lent their special talents and unfaltering enthusiasm in creating the professional event we enjoy today, we pay tribute to the way in which they have bought art into our lives.
